Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Wilmette is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Wilmette follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Experienced very good care when I had my teeth cleaned and examined by the Kohler Dentistry team. I was welcomed warmly and the hygeniest was kind and understanding. Due to the great technology I was able to watch my examination right on the screen and Craig Kohler explained everything during the examination. Both he and his assistant were very competent, caring and generous in attitude. The follow-up was also excellent as Craig called me the next day to check that all was as it should be with my nighttime mouth guard.

Dr. Kohler is an amazing Dentist. He is extremely thorough and always professional. He makes the patient feel very comfortable and clearly explains all the procedures and reasoning for any work that needs to be done to maintain a healthy mouth. He even invented an amazing toothbrush that has given me very positive results. I am never nervous or concerned about visiting his office. Excellent experience always.

Best dentist I’ve ever been toβ€”completely painless and actually relaxing. Dr. Kohler uses a β€œwand” numbing tool instead of a traditional syringe, which made a huge difference for me since I hate needles. The whole experience is calm, not stressful like typical dental visits. He’s very attentive, always checking in and making sure I’m comfortable. What really stands out is the quality of careβ€”he uses a camera and microscope to show exactly where issues are and explains how to prevent them long-term. Because of that, my teeth have stayed in great shape, and I actually understand how to take better care of them. Highly recommend.

Dr. Craig Kohler is an exceptional dentist. He is incredibly patient, kind, and truly meticulous in his work. He takes the time to explain everything clearly, never rushes, and makes sure you’re comfortable throughout the entire visit. You can tell he takes great pride in his craft β€” his attention to detail and commitment to doing things right really set him apart.
